Field trips

Both the school age class and the full time preschool classes average two (2) field trips per month in the summer.

Places of interest can include but are not limited to:
Cincinnati Reds baseball game, Air Force Museum, Jungle Jim’s International Supermarket, National Guard Armory, bowling, Frisbee golf, McDonald’s restaurant, Whitewater MetroPark, Hueston Woods State Park, Rentschler Forest MetroPark, Millikan Woods Park, Cleveland Avenue Splash Park, Butler County 4H Fair and more.

Because of the additional expenses (extra staff, admission fees, transportation costs, etc.) each child is assessed an additional $25.00 per month for fields trips. THIS DOES NOT COMPLETELY COVER COSTS. JLH doesn’t make money on field trips. However, we strive to command our student’s interest and curiosity by scheduling cool places to go.

Water days

Every Tuesday is a water day through the summer.

Send your child with swimming suits, towels, flip-flops and sun screen so they can splash around in our wading pools, slide on the Slip-N- Slide and run through sprinklers.

Bike Days

Every Thursday is a bike day through the summer. Driveways are blocked off.
Helmets are worn.
Traffic patterns set and the kids bring bikes and scooters to race around the parking lot. When it gets hot, sprinklers are set to cool things down. For some, it is the only flat, safe place they can ride!

Once each month in June, July & August, we grill hotdogs and have a picnic for the kids. Parents are asked to sign up for chips, veggies, watermelon or desserts. Food tastes better shared outdoors!
